240 with 960 front and rear end conversion

that would be pretty darn hard, they are completely different chassis. the 7/9's use a rear subframe that supports the thrust rods and isolates them from the rest of the car chassis, totally different trailing arm design, and hte 7/9 front end is quite different too, with a 2 piece lower control arm... now if you mean the 960 sedans with the IRS rear end, massive differences

960:
Track, front 59.2 in (150 cm)
rear 59.7 in (152 cm)
while a 240 is much narrower,
Track, front56.3" (143 cm)
rear 53.5"(136cm)
if you are talking about the 5-way multilink IRS 960 sedans, the geometry of that suspension is very tuned to the car geometry, you can't smpliy mount the rear closer together without messing that up.
