240 brake problem
Hello all
I'm new to the forum, but have owned a few 240's over the last few years. My problem is with the brakes on my 1988 240 . The brake pedal itself feels good and when pressure is applied stops in a normal fashion, but sometimes it seem you have to apply 3 times the normal amount of brake pedal pressure and then you wonder if it will stop.
Hope someone can help.
Thanks

You could have a bad brake booster.
Does it feel like hitting the brakes with the car off?

The manifold end of the booster's vacuum supply hose is suspect, that's where oils are most likely to contaminate it. They close-in on the inside, the outside of the hose will look quite normal.
