hey all, i kindaa bought a volvo 240 gl 1990 on impluse the other day thinking it would be quite entertaining to fix her up, when i got home i went over her and discovered a few things, she leaks water like a hole in a bucket, i fill the bottle up drive to the shop and back (5kms max) and she is empty! so i figured it has a blown head gasket, the power steering leaks but from what i can tell it is actually the wrong lid and spills out from there but not sure? and the air con only ever seems to blow warm air, is this cuzed by it needing to be re-gassed? so to get to the point i am looking to buy another head (its cheaper then having it machined out my research tells me) or just buy another matching 240 gl but i have been unable to one near by!! i am in the penrith area and am having trouble finding a wreckers any help there?

ps does anyone know why it has a badge on the back which says it is a 20th aniversary limited edition? i cant find anything on it. thnx again

 

make sure the coolent isant leaking from anywhere els...if it is burning that much coolent like you say it is you would see white smoke out of the tail pipe...as for the a/c take it some where to check the pressures to see if it has refrigerant in it, it could be the compressor, or other a/c part.
