looking up the greenbooks now for 1991 and 1992 240...

hmmm. 1992 shows three terminals to the speedometer, pin 1 == black, ground. pin 2 == green-white, signal from speed sensor. pin 3 == blue, power from ignition switch pin 15R

the "instrument panel" schematic for the 1992 does show a 4th connection to the main board on the instrument panel, wired to pin 31/6 (circular connector pin 6, blue-black wire), which goes to 214/34 (the LH2.4 ECU) and also is connected to a yellow wire to 171/5 (pin 5 on the cruise control module). its /not/ shown on the 3 pin connector that plugs into the back of the speedometer.

both the early and late 1993 books show the exact same configuration, as does the 1991 book.

So there is most likely a compatibility issue between the 91 and the 92. Seller claims odometer and speedometer working prior to shipment but when I put it in it doesn't work.
There was also another electrical terminal underneath the clock on the 92 which is not on the 91 I was wondering if that is for the ABS or service light

No need to reply. Seller agreed to full refund. I'll try again

ABS light is the green wire on pin 3 of the "smile" connector.

Check Engine light is shown as a seperate pin below the speedo on both 91 and 92 diagrams, showing a pink-white wire to both the ECU and ICU.

ABS clusters took 4 wires to the speedometer. Non-ABS cars only had 3 wires. I think all '92 and later 240s had the ABS cluster regardless of whether the car had ABS or not (I think all '93 models came with ABS). The extra wire is for the ABS light.

To find a cluster for your car, you need to stick with a '91 or earlier cluster from a non-ABS car.
