Default 240 Oil Change

Hi,

I want to give my 91 volvo an oil change. This is my first time so a friend who has changed his own oil for 30 years is showing me how to do this. He is a bit stumped about the oil pan and Volvos though. He laughs and says that Volvos are unusual. He thinks that the oil pan is the round red pan with the 1" bolt, but then he notices a rectangular black pan with a smaller bolt farther back on the engine and he isn't so sure now. We have tried to find images of the engine online but have not had such luck. Can anyone inform me which is the right pan? And what size sprocket we need to get the bolt off?

Thanks!

The oil pan is rounded, red, and has a 1" drain plug. The pan farther back that is rectangular is for the transmission, if automatic.
