Default 240 power steering pump shaft noise

My 1990 240DL (196,000) is making a "screeching?" noise which I traced to the power steering pump shaft. If I squirt a touch of WD on it, it goes away for about 30 minutes and then returns.

I'm assuming there's a shaft bearing that's worn out. Is this something that can be rebuilt, or do you just buy a new pump?

The steering function works fine.

Thanks for your input

Are you sure it isn't the belt?
If it is the bearing in the pump get a new pump.

Belts are new; time for a new pump.

Thanks for the help!
