Default 240 radio wiring

I just did the heater core/blower repair to my 1980 gt. took lots of pictures except for one wire.
the radio has an L-shaped plug with a black and grey wire. should be pos and neg for the radio.
my question is there is a grey wire with a crimped ring connector is this a ground.

according to one wiring diagram for a 1980, there's a BLACK wire from fuse 1 to the radio, and a grey wire to ground. there's another black wire that goes to the power antenna, activates a relay that fires the antenna motor. and there's wires to two speakers, who's color or pinouts arent' shown on this diagram.

not sure what the 'crimped ring connector' is.
