Default 240 - removing hubcaps

My former (1986) 245 had plastic hubcaps (wheel covers) that you remove with a slight rotation, clockwise as I recall. (There was a center cap on those as well.) My current 245 (1987) comes with different hubcaps. This style is pretty ubiquitous and so I'm pretty sure they're OEM. There's no center cap on these -- just a single 14" disk. Anyway, they won't budge. I don't think they rotate to come off, but I'm afraid I'm going to break them if I pry at them any further. This is the first occasion I've had to remove them, in order to inspect the pads and rotors. Are the clips 360 degrees? What gives?

they should just pop straight off. use the prybar on the end of the jack handle/lugwrench in the tool pouch.

I just grab them by the spokes and yank them off by hand, I've yet to break any of the bigger one-piece hubcaps, its pretty tough plastic.
