Default 240 repair

I was in an accident not that long ago and am looking to repair my 240, i was just curious to see if parts like headlights, headlight mounts, and some minor engine parts would be interchangeable across the years of the 240’s. i have an 89, and the car I've got my eye on for parts is an 86. Would parts for a 240 be interchangeable depending on year? Or are most parts universal

86-93 use the same front end components (headlamps, core support, etc,)

Some engine components differ for the '89 vs. '86. Air mass meter, idle air controller, crank position sensor and distributor to name a few. What engine components were you planning to swap?

Sorry about your accident, jswift but lifted to hear of your rebuild. I purchased "NEW" halogen headlamps with "NEW" corner lights as well as a gently-used grill (excellent condition) for my an updo of my husband's '86 Volvo but sadly, soon after purchase of the new lights & grille, his loyal 240 went to Volvo heaven. I've spent a long time tonight being technologically challenged (& unsuccessful to boot) posting in the marketplace so I thought I'd reach out directly in case these items can be of help to you. Tomorrow is another day. I'll try to figure out posting on Marketplace then. LMK if you are interested in headlamps, corner lights, and front grill.

Items: Volvo 240 ('86-'93). "NEW" (from the box) R&L Halogen Headlamps w/ "NEW" corner lights ($200 plus $30 shipping). I also have a "just like new" shiny front grill with unscratched Volvo emblem ($150 plus $30 shipping). These items are specifically for the 240 series 1986-1993. If purchased together I'd be happy to cut the shipping in half.

I lost track of life after my 7/2024 post about the loss of our 1986 240, but if you are still looking for parts for yours please note that I just reposted my (new) headlights & sidelights and "like new" front grille, for an even deeper discount.
