Default 240 sedan trunk light inop.

Hey fellow Volvo enthusiasts!
I have a 1990 240 sedan and ever since I've had it, the trunk light has never worked. I've tried going through all of the connections, but came up short. Which is exactly what I'm thinking it might be..has anyone else had this issue? I tried the obvious and replaced the bulb, no luck. I'm definitely not nervous to digging through wiring harnesses to find it. The only real wiring work I've done in the trunk is hardwiring the tail lights.

looks like its on fuse 8, which is always powered, at the light you should have power on the green wire. the light itself has a mercury 'tilt' switch in it that turns it on when the trunk lid is open, and off when its down.

If the fuse is good and there's no power at the green wire, I'd check the wires in the trunk hinge. if the fuse is bad, and a replacement fuse blows also, I'd also check those wires at the trunk hinge.

I checked all fuses and connections and they were good. Need to dig out my volt/ohm meter out and go probing. Anyone have/seen this situation? Must be a short somewhere between the fuse panel and the light assembly.

if it was a short, you'd be blowing fuses.
