Default 240 service

Hi! I have a 91 245 and my service light came on at 165,500. Does anyone have the list of service intervals or can tell me what kind of service does my 245 need?? thx.

That's actually pretty vague. Have you had all the recommended service thus far? So far as Volvo's go, I think Tech would be best to handle this one. Give it a few, he's usually thundering his way through every post in a little while.

Overall it is pretty much just an oil change.

BUT!!!!! Did you change the timing belt and do the major service at 150,000? That service is the major tune up and Valve adjustment service.

There should have been a trans service in there somewhere to I think at 160,000.

thx for the reply! yes the timing belt was replaced at 150k. and major tune up. I'm a tech myself, so that's why I'm asking for help on what kind of service. But I think is just oil change, maybe I'll replace the ATF as well. Thanks all! btw to reset the service light is it the red switch behind the instrument cluster? on alldata, non-SRS is on the back and SRS is on the front. But I have SRS and there is no button to reset it, so could it be the red switch instead?

You should have a little black button all the way on the right side of the cluster push it with the key on and it should reset it.
If not reach up to the back of the cluster.Follow the pipe from the right side of the cluster to the left side and I think it is pull down on the switch or it might be pushing it up.

Hope this helps.

Did you try reaching up under the dash and following the tube from the right side of the cluster and move the switch on the left side?

tech,

thx i reset the service indicator.. i followed the metal tube from the service button hole to the Black lever. i changed the oil/filter, did a tune because of two open wires i found on the scope. will change the coolant when i have time.. do you know what size is the nut for the coolant drain and what size of the hose to put it on it, its right near the exhaust header so dont want to get any coolant on there. almost i found one of the oil pan bolt missing, i guess the last owner's mechanic didnt put that one pack on, will it cause any leaks from the gasket? should I go to the junk yard and get a bolt. thx.

The coolant drain is a 13mm wrench.Im not sure of the hose size.

I would get a bolt and put it back in the oil pan.
