Default 240 shifting problem. very interesting findings

hey guys. I have a very odd problem. I recently got home from a 500+ mile trip. I came home on monday and then today i took the car for a test drive as i am installing a cruise control system. It started right up. I started driving and noticed it was not shifting right. It did finally shift but really high and it was a very hard shift. I disconected the cruise control so i doubt it was the cause. I turn for home and checked the trans fluid which was changed about 1000 miles ago on thanksgiving. (Mostly highway miles from delaware to charlotte NC and back.) The fluid was VERY VERY HIGH. It was above the dip stick plastic. I then drained some fluid and brought it back down to a normal level. and went for another drive. The problem was the same. Still not shifting at the right point and when it did finally shift into second it was a hard shift and at about 35mph instead of 15 to 20mph. As i pulled back into the drive way i noticed that when i put the car in park it felt different. I shifted back to reverse and it made the car jump or lurch. Then i shifted to neutrel and waited a second . Then into drive and it "jumped" again. The fluid in the trans is still red and looks good. What happened?

The car sat slightly uphill (about 5 degrees) nose up from monday night to today. When i drove home on the trip there was no problems at all. Ran strong and shifted perfectly. I am very confused

HELP PLEASE

The fluid should be checked on level ground during idle after shifting slowly through all gears.

I would inspect the kickdown that goes from the throttle body to the transmission.

yup that kickdown cable is the problem, I forgot about that cable. It doesnt seem to want to go back down to the trans from the throttle valve. How do i fix? or should i just replace.

Thanks
