Default 240 Starter needed - suggestions?

My starter is on its last leg, AAA had to tap on it to get my 84 240 to start.

My mechanic said a starter is about $300, and the local Volvo dealer had the same price. Money is tight.

IPD has a remanufactured Bosch for $100, but they are out of stock for 1 week. I figure a remanuf is better than a salvage starter.

Can I get a Bosch starter at a local parts store? Is this as good as the Volvo starter?

Thank you!

it needs new brushes. They are cheap. If you are handy with a big soldering iron its a 2-hour job from on to off to refitted and working.
