Hello,
When driving my 240, auto trans, in reverse, I've got a strange slapping or tapping against the shifter. This has slowly gotten worse and I have no clue what it could be...bushing..linkage...etc..IT feels like something is tapping the gear shifter?

The car shifter feels fine when going in any forward gear...it's just when going in reverse that it happens.
Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated!

There are some nylon bushings that could be worn out below the shifter. If it's a very distinct clunking then possibly your transmission mount is no bueno.

Supposed to rain this weekend here. I'll check those out...Is the tranny mount hard to change (toward front or back) and does tranny have to come out or just be supported?
