240 strut mount question
back again for more from suspension help.
got help from the forum previously with installin new strut inserts. was able to get both entire strut assemblies out of the car and have a friend replace the tubes. at the time I didn't have cash for new strut mounts so I reused the old ones....mistake.
car rides great an solved the previous noises I was hearing. now the car is very creaky and squeaky at low speeds when maneuvering. I take it this is my old mounts not doing their job?
planning on buying oem but my question is what all do I need to purchase? the diagram shows a "spring seat" and also a bump stop? will I need to replace these as well?? thanks!

I have dealt with the upper strut mounts before and they tend to be in definite need of replacement after many years of use. Of course most will let them go and don't replace them in which they literally get off centered as you can see in the engine bay at the top of the strut tower. From what I remember the spring seat, etc. only needs replacement if damaged. Of course depending on how long you let your mounts go will depict the quality of those seating parts. A take apart and inspect will be necessary. I also believe that locking nuts should also be replaced and not reused. This is from my experience although i'm sure others may chime in.
