Default 244 turbo stalls won't start

Newbie here.....believe me VERY new!!
I have a 83 244 turbo that will start and go for about 2 miles then dies.
Replaced the fuel filter same problem. Also when I cycle the ignition turn key off then on about 5 times it will start then sputter out and now will not start at all now. I get spark...new cap rotor plugs and wires even a new coil.
I can hear the fuel pump go through it's cycle, 3/4 tank of fuel, what could it be?
It has only160+k miles. HELP ME PLEASE!
I have a 98 v90 with 294k and never had any problems with that one!

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

p.s. It was my late mothers car...truly an old lady only drove it.

Thats abotu the time the motor reaches operating temperature. You could have a bad sensor on the motor. There are a few of them on the head under the intake that could be culprits.

First thing to check is the engine wiring harness.Check all connections,if there is any plastic insulation missing or cracked, you will need to have it repaired or replaced.

The turbo's are well known for their disintegrating wiring.I've had six turbo 240's and everyone of them had a few bad wires.

If your wiring checks out ok,you need to check fuel pressure.Since the car won't start, the line pressure or control pressure cant be checked...So the in tank pump needs to be checked before it goes into the main pump, and the main pump can be checked at the filter.

The K-jet system is very dependent on having the correct fuel pressure to run properly,or run at all.

Hope this helps you out, maybe someone with a lot of K-jet experience will chime in.This system is fairly complex, and a pain in the rear to work on.

Thanks for all the help...This is what I discovered.
The ignition switch is bad. If you let go slowly when you start it it fires up right away. I mean if you jiggle it you can hear the fuel pump shut off when the car is running
The main fuel pump is very noisy, don't know if the in-tank is bad..but the main pump sound as tho a bearing is bad also gets a little warm.
Maybe this is cause of the sputtering under throttle.

I will post Monday when I these two items fixed.
Thank you guys so much. It is very much appreciated!

Default remote starter

Using a remote starter can also help isolate the problem. Put one end of remote starter on "50" blade terminal of starter and other end on + battery post. Turn ignition to "On," then hit remote starter button. If engine starts, problem is in ignition circuit. If no start, problem is starter solenoid or starter motor.

Don't know if this is helpful or not but my 81 240 had an in tank pump going bad causing the main pump to whine or growl when idling or while stopped at red lights it also sputtered when accelerating. I replaced the in tank pump problem solved and no more noise from the main pump.
