I have a 740 GL est, with a factory fitted steel sunroof. The panel was very rusty / pitted when I bought it recently, I have done a temp job for now, but would like to replace the panel with a much better one from a junker, which I can respray if neccesary.

My question is - Would the steel sunroof panel from any 740 / 760 be compatible, regarding the internal fixings etc?? Also, would one from, say, a 900 or any other newer model do the job, the newer the better maybe???

Any advice from a fellow volvo owner would be very welcome,

VADIS shows the same part number (3503337) for the 740, 940 & 960 for the sun roof hatch. Other models e.g. 850 are different.

 

Hi Bill, Many thanks for your reply and advice, I guess that gives me a little more choice when hunting a good sunroof panel down.

BTW - Where can I get a (hopefully cheap or free!!) copy of vadis on cd-rom, I presume it is much in vain to the fiat eper cd I used a few times when I had an italian shopping trolley

Also, I suppose another thought would be to try and get hold of a new panel which I could spray, presumably a volvo dealer could supply one (god knows at what price!), I wonder tho if there is anyone here in the UK that could supply an OEM pattern panel, much along the lines of cheaper aftermarket body panels wings etc??? Anyone care to hazard a guess - Help and ideas much appreciated
