I have a issue with my sunroof .. When I open it, it goes about 1/4 of the way and then stops, I can take a screw driver and get it forward a little and then press the button and it'll close back but it wont go any further open with a screw driver or pressing the button. Any ideas on whats wrong? Heres how far it opens ...

 

It's stuck due to non use and lack of maintenance. Lube the tracks, work the roof back and forth, manually if you have to; it'll loosen up eventually. Then lube all pivot points and the tracks the best you can get to them.

 

Thats the thing, the sunroof gets that far back and it wont go forward or backwards, you can crank it forward but you cannot crank it back. And once you get it cranked forward just a little then you can use the button to close it the rest of the way. Still think its the track? Would I have to drop the headlining if I wanted to oil all of it? I guess ill try oiling most of the track and just see what I get.

You don't have to drop anything-just do the exposed parts where the roof slides.
