Default 99 T5 motor blew-up. What yrs motor can I use?

Found a used 98 but I hear it won't work due to the ETS.

Do you mean ETM? the Electronic thottle?. I thought that was on 99s

Yes. ETM
But same question stands. What years are interchangeable??

Oh I misread that. You have a 99 which has the ETM. 98s have a traditional throttle cable and a different ECU altogether. Id imagine theres some way to do it since they are essentially the same motor but for the most part no. I got my motor from lkqcorp. They gave me a motoro with manifolds and a turbo. They got a block back for the core charge lol

I've got a 98 complete with ECU if your interested. No throttle cable though.
