Default 76 Volvo 240 Intermittent gas issue

Hey all.
I have 1976 volvo 245 wagon, with mechanical fuel injection. Recently (a year ago) I replaced my fuel pump and filter (underneath the hood.) I just fixed a gas leak, by having a weld shop cut out and replace a small section of the tank (except now I can't use my in tank fuel filter.) About 3 weeks ago, it started stumbling, randomly, which I attributed to being low on gas (damaged the electrical connect to the gauge on the fuel sending unit when fixing tank, so my guage doesn't work anymore.) I would fill up and I thought it would go away. Turns out its still doing it, though I have enough gas that it should definitely run. Right now what its doing is it will start and run when its cold, but then start to stumble while being driven during and sometimes not during acceleration. When it gets to temp, and the car is shut off it will not start again. When it died on me the first time, I took the line off the inlet on the fuel filter under the hood, and turned the key. Plenty of gas came out. I tried the outlet of the filter to make sure gas was coming out, and plenty of it was coming out.
I am definitely getting spark to my cylinders. The other weird thing is, when it was at tempt, and wouldn't start, I would pull the injectors out, and wouldn't get any spray coming out (haven't tried this while cold yet, do that tomorrow.) Anyone got any ideas? Am I experiencing vapor lock?
The only other thing I can think of is the fuel distributor, but since this is mechanical, It seems like it would either work, or not.
Would greatly appreciate your help here.
Thanks
Jared

have you looked at the fuel pressure regulator off the rail?

Where is the regulator located? What should I be looking for, or how would I test it?

oh...nm, I don't think they started using regulators 'till '85...

I think what passes for a regulator back then was a system using a fuel distributor and an accumulator.

These two things should be in line close to the pump....i think?

The accumulator is right after the fuel pump. The fuel distributor is right next to the intake. I'm not sure how to test either one. Anyone every had one go bad? Or know how to test them?

i have no experience with them....when I looked them up though they weren't too expensive. I hate just throwing parts at a vehicle....but other than what you've already done I'm at a bit of loss. Are you certain it's fuel related and not vacuum related? A bad Iadle Air Control valve will cause simmilar symptoms. As would a faulty EGR, bad MAF....cleaning up your throttle body, checking the O2 sensor?

I don't know about the accumulator, but the fuel distributor is $450. I was under the impression my car didn't have any O2 sensor's. Ill have to get a book for this thing...I don't believe my car has a MAF either. I will look into the EGR and idle control valve. Thanks

$450?!? yikes, clearly I was looking at the wrong part!

guides help an awful lot. I've never worked or seen anything older than a '83....I'm just throwing things out there.

I appreciate the effort. Got me thinking about that o2 sensor (if their is one) and the idle control valve. After that, IDK.
