Question '82 245 throttle position sensor

I bought an '82 245 a while ago, and have only just now realized that the black(im assuming ground) wire for the throttle position sensor has been completely disconnected the whole time. this begs the question of what the TPS does? I understand it tells the ecu the throttle position, and it seems mechanically it can only tell whether its at WOT or not. so what changes(or should be changing lol) at WOT? Now im wondering why it was even disconnected in the first place. thanks

That switch is to tell the idle motor that it's supposed to be idling - and then the idle motor (iac, air slide, whatever you want to call it) trys to keep the idle speed about 750 rpms.

It does not have anything to do with WOT.

Congrats on the turbo - those are more fun with the intercooler kit installed!
