check bushing wear.
The shocks will probably need replacing and also the springs.

Wait for the experts to get on

Default '84 240 turbo coupe sagging

Thanks Tipsp,
I did put new shocks all around five years ago and probably have 6000 miles on it since then! I will have a closer look at them and the springs etc.

what shocks? that is not a lot of miles on them in that time period. they a probably still okay...

only the springs might needing to be replaced.

Either bad trailing arm bushings or weak springs. Even with the shocks removed the car shouldn't sag. Fortunately the rear springs are pretty easy to replace if you have a floor jack and a couple of jack stands.

Thanks Tipsp,
I will make a trip to the wreckers for some newer springs.
Cheers,
Pete

Thanks Bluegoose,
The springs are the culprit by the sounds of it, are the trailing arm bushings relatively easy to replace as well?

TABs are not easy to replace. This tool will help:

That TAB info looks very thorough and should be helpful if I have to go that route.
Thanks again blue goose!

Default sagging issue solved

Replaced the rear springs on my '84 240 coupe with a set from a '90 sedan. The car sits more level and does not drag the tailpipe going into and out of the gas stations anymore.

Thanks for the advice gang!
