This car is being given to me. You can see it has lots of rust.
Can anyone tell me is it fixable. It's a one owner car belonging
to my wifes aunt.

I haven't seen it in person it's currently in Illinois.

 

Anything is fixable providing the finished product is worth the time and resources you will have to commit to the project. Unfortunately in this case it is not. A non rusty Volvo like this can be had for $500 and up in most markets, so a free one requiring many thousands to repair makes no financial sense.

 

yikes ! it looks like a parts car to me....

 

if the car runs well, and you need basic ugly transportation, drive it til it drops.
