87 240DL won't start...HELP!
Hello to everyone, I'm perry and I'm a newbie. I have this 87 240DL wgon that I've been driving for two years now. I was warming up the engine one morning and the enging died. It will crank but will mot go. I thought it was the fuel pump so I took the FP out and tested it...it was working. I checked all my fuses as well. I also checked the voltage of the wires going to the FP. I am only getting .63 volts when I crank the engine. I also replaced the fuel pump relay...still no luck. I removed the distributor and check for ignition and fuel injector response, I am getting ignition spark but I am not getting any sound or movement from the injectors when I turn the distributor manually. What coul be the problem? Thanks in advance.
Ok, so even if I get spark while rotating the distributor by hand, if the trigger is bad, i will not get any signal going to the injectors? And if I don't have any signal or voltage going to the injectors, does that have something to do with the low voltage going to the fuel pump?
I think I've tried some good relays...well, to be honest, I'm not sure. I have seven fuel pumps that came from the yard, one or two of them should be good. I am getting 12 volts from the big red wire where the pump relay attaches. Today's update: I tried my ECU on another car and it works. The same thing as the distributor. I tried it on a running 240 and when I turn the distributor manually, I am simultaneously getting spark and injector pulse.

Clean the 20A fuse on the fender near the coil and measure the voltage on the red wire at the fuel pump relay. You tried a know good relay?

If this is a B230F engine, then go to www.stepbystepvolvo.com and download the diagnostic guide to 740 no-starts.

The connection at the + battery terminal, the black junction box on the fender where all the red wires meet, corrosion inside the 20A fuse holder or the 20A fuse by the coil.

Tested all the fuel pump relays I have and found that I have seven out of seven relays. I am kinda confused , the diagram says E is the main relay. Which one is the fuel pump relay? I am only getting 9 volts when I turn the key on. Does the Air Mass sensor affrect or cause this problem. working relays.
