I've just resigned myself to replacing lights on my cars every 10 years or so. I'm pickier than most, I see *so* many cars running around with horribly yellowed and dull headlights, but I like having crisp clean light out front, and new tail lights just make the car look 100% fresher. The "Depo" brand of made-in-china replacement lights are quite good quality, for less than half the price of OEM.
