'89 760t horn
the horn on my '89 760 turbo has quit working and i need to make a fix to get it's annual state inspection. my regular shop said the contacts in the steering wheel have worn down and are no longer making contact with the ring on the steering column side.
does anyone know how i might bypass the switches on the wheel and wire in a switch or button to mount on the dash? more specifically, does anyone know where in the horn's electrical system i might tap into with wiring for a switch?
thanks a million for any help!!!!

Why not try getting a set of switches from a junkyard?
Pull one of the switches out of the steering wheel and touch the 2 wires together and see if the horn homks. If so just the little switches are bad.

neither of the switches are getting power. what i'm hoping to do tap into the horn's electrical wires before they go into the steering column and mount a new switch on the underside of the dash...

I would check in the harness by the column. And see if there is power on that side. If not then try to trace it and try to figure out where it is loosing power. Then maybe you can fix it and keep the factory setup.
