90 240 front rotor replacement...HELP!
There seems to be so many different brands of rotors and types....does it matter which ones i get? how do i check to see if i have girling brakes or ate brakes? does that even matter. thanks for all your help......also do you have to take out the wheel bearings and such to change the rotor?

You don't need to remove the bearings to change the rotor. 99% chance your front brakes have Girling calipers if you're in the US. Rears have ATE. You will need vented rotors to go with your Girling calipers. But it's best to pull the wheel off and have a look. Tascavolvo now sells genuine Volvo-brand rotors made in China. I would pass. Take a look at Brembo. Good rotors.
The Girling caliper has two anti-rattle clips for the pads. The pads are held in with pins that have a hole near the end for a little clip to hold it in.
The ATE caliper has one anti-rattle clip to hold both pads. The pads are held in with pins that are pressed in. You need a hammer and drift to pound the old pins out and the new pins in.
