91 740 stalls while stopping and turning, 160K Regina.
New:

High pressure pump in tank fuel pump
sock filter
inline filter
fuel pressure regulator
plugs
rotor
distributor cap
plug wires.
Brake booster
air cleaner

Have cleaned throtle body
fixed vacume leaks
Checked and tigthtened ground straps
switched relays fan aux with radio supp

some times (not often hard start when cold) but the stall takes place cold or hot. Enging always restarts in one to 4 tries ..So maybe I will go back to owning BMWs I could at least get them running HELP!!

 

Have you checked the engine speed sensor that goes into the back of the engine where the engine and trans meets?If the outside sheilding is cracked at all replace the sensor that will make it stall.Have you also checked the power stage.It is mounted on the inside of the drivers side fender.It is black and mounted to an aliminum plate.

 

Thx for the info. We are still working on it. Now it wont start at all. No spark from the coil.

Check the things I suggested they will cause it to not start at all either.

 

I bought a used coil--I know regina coils seldom go bad but it felt like a coil to me. IT was.

Im glad you figured it out.Regina's are very picky and a pain in the butt to fix.
