Default Problem when turbo to kick in

I have a 92 740 t. Recently, when I accelerate enough for the turbo to kick in it feels like there is some type of pressure drop, and I hear a whinning coming from the front right side. I cannot get turbo boost. Any ideas where to look? I thought hoses, but cant find anything that looks cracked etc... Thanks.

Check the hoses and if they are really soft they might be collapsing. If you can have some one sit in the car with the emergancy brake on and holding foot on the brake.Have them hold the gas and slowly push down on till the turbo kicks in and watch the hoses and see if they collapse.Make sure you stand off to side so it the car moves it doesn't hit you!!!!

I believe you are correct about the hoses, although they all seem soft. I just replaced the hose that goes from the maf to the airbox since it had a small hole, but that did not solve the problem. I then took your advice frin first post and it appears the hose from the intercooler (driver side) to the ???, and then hose from the ??? to the manifold are both really bad. The one to the intercooler is colapsing though. Can you tell me what each of these is called and where to get them cheap? Also, there is a pipe (???) in between each hose, what is that? Much appreciated. John

If you have another car just take them off and take them with you.You can try an auto parts store that specializes in imports. There is one from the throttle body the the intercooler well actually 2 they have the pipe in the middle.Im not sure there exact name but any auto parts store should have pictures of the hoses. The other set of hoses is from the intercooler to the turbo.

No you don't just follow the hose and loosen the clamp.
