last week my girlfriend was driving our 92 240 and it stalled on her. previously we starting issues in the past just as well,natrually we always think first no fuel which was ok after i checked the relay and jumped the wire to operate the the pump,i replaced all of the plugs,wires,coil,ignition amp,ecu. and i kick myself for one i am a mechanic and it hit me later, that day i did the diagnostic and code 214 came up for rpm speed eratic and after researching online i came to the conclusion speed sensor,i ordered the parts from ebay waited for parts patiently 4 or 5 day my sensor arrived today i put it in and yes like i told my baby i was 100% sure that was it and bam! it started i didn't waste the money on the parts because it needed a tune up anyway so it all worked out perfect for me, thank you god,if equiped with a speed sensor which is located top of the trans bellhousing ,you're going to need an 8 to 10 inch extension ,universial adapter,10mm short socket and patience,its easy getting out, but a pain getting that bolt back in and if you have big hands or fingers, hope you have a friend or neighbor with small ones. i hope this will help most of you on what to go to first before you spend alot of money,i saved money using ebay if you need partfast, at your local parts store will run at least $86.00 before taxes ,on ebay $27.00+$5.00 shipping,time does save. good luck good people.

 

It is also an added plus if you have a 10MM socket with a magnet in the socket.
Works really well for getting the screw back in.
