92 940GL Idle Air Control Valve Code
Hi all,
Inherited a 940 from my brother-in-law who "never had any trouble with it." Of course, the first day I have it, it won't start. The diagnostics spits out a 2-2-3, which is the idle air control valve code. Looking at the price of these, I'm wondering if there's any troubleshooting I can do. It sounds like it wants to start but isn't getting any fuel. The fuel pump is running as it should, and I've checked the relays. That code has got me thinking that it might actually be the IAC. Is there a way to test to see if this thing is good without finding another 940 and saying "Hey, can I borrow your IAC for a second?"
Thanks,
Steve

It seems the IAC is working well enough - I can feel it buzzing with the key set to II in the ignition, and when I plug and unplug it I can here the plunger thunk - it's getting its 12 volts (tested that with the meter). Still no luck getting it any gas. I hear the fuel pump grumble for a second or two when I turn the ignition. I just wish I could figure this out... grrrr!

It now starts, and I'm able to drive it to Walmart and get butter. Yay.
However, it seems to have an issue approaching 2000 rpm. If I floor it from idle, it will really not like to go past 2000, instead sorta wrrwrring around 2000, and then, maybe, eventually, something kicks in and the tach soars skyward. If I gradually increase from idle, and I mean _gradually_, I can skip the stutter at 2000.
Is this related to my IAC code? Should I bite the bullet and replace the IAC? the IAC is getting power, and the thing idles like a beauty, but it's coming out of that idle that is where the issue starts.
