Default '92 Volvo 940 Rex/Regina no power to the fuel pump

I am having a no start issues with my 1992 940gl with the Rex/Regina fuel and electrical system.

Iran fine until recently and having spent alot of time going through this it was pretty easy for me to find the culprit.
no sound from the fuel pump led me to pull it and check it. It ran fine when directly powered.
put back on the sending unit and the pump wont come on.
so for some reason the fuel pump is not getting power.
I bought a new fuel pump relay but still no power.

I am at a loss, any help would be much appreciated!

Thank you, I thought that and it was but the problem was a short in the pump.

Thanks!
