93 240 Overdrive Problem

Default 93 240 Overdrive Problem

my 240 wont go into overdrive. the electronic overdrive fuse keeps popping everytime i put a new one in. i need some help as to what i should do next. thanks,

Well, you have a short. The simplest place to look is under the car. On the driver's side of the transmission is a vertical solenoid near the shifter linkage. There is a single wire coming out of the top. Follow it forward and see if you can find an obvious break.

i cant seem to find a break. what do you know about iPD's overdrive solenoid bypass? im thinking about just doing that. after all, this is my girlfriends car and she doesn't ever use the overdrive button anyway.

I've never used one although they're simple to install. You can actually mod the existing solenoid to work like the IPD unit. Again, I've never done it but you can search right here on the sight for it. I've been fortunate in always being able to fix 'em.
