There is a cable that plugs into the top of the block directly behind the head below the firewall. I can not tell right now where the other in goes but it has a connection just like the one on the AMM. It got a little to close the the head and caused the cable to break down. When I shake it, the engine cuts off. What is this cable and what does it connect too?

 

I've been told that this is the crank position sensor. Any ideas on how to get at this beast?
