I am going to replace the valve hushers on a 1993 240 and was wondering how much it will change the valve adjustment.

I assume that it will tighten the valves and am wondering how much it will affect the valve lash. Should I expect it to change one or two shim sizes?

 

Yes, you can expect some change. The good news is one seldom needs 8 new shims. Usually you can move them around and end up needing only 2-4 new ones.
