Default '93 245 Corner Light Removal

I have a bad ground on the socket in the driver's turn signal light on my '93 245. Fender ground is fine, test light doesn't light if you use the bulb socket as a ground point.

This might be a dumb question, but can you get just the socket and not the whole corner light? If you can, is it worth the struggle or would you go with just a used corner light?

Also, I've been looking at the corner fixture and I don't see an obvious way to remove it. Before I tear the whole front off to find it was something simple, I thought I'd ask how do you remove the corner lights?

This forum has been slowly resurecting a neglected '93 245, so many many thanks for all your help!

IIRC, on a late 240, the corner lights are attached to the headlight mounting frame/panel, you remove them as a unit, then they can be separated. but thats remembering from 10 years ago when I last took one apart.

There are two parts to the corner lights - lens and the base. The lens can be replaced without removal of the base. The base has the socket built into it so you might as well pick up a whole used corner light. I find the lenses in the junkyard can be faded and cracked so use your old lens if it is still good.
