Hi there.
i thought i would try and post on a online forum/
i have a volvo wagon 1993 and i cant get the key out.
i think my shiftlock was bypassed from a previous problem.
anyway the shop said it would be 225 dollars to replace the ignition. they said 100 percent it was this hardware problem.
I can drive the car. Everything works but the key wont turn the last notch to the left. Its stuck..
Is there anything else i can do? 225$ is out of my price range now.
I really dont want to leave the key in there and lock the doors ..

Unless you can use tweezers or maybe some somehow glue(?) something to the key to be able to pull it out you will most likely have to replace it. If you feel comfortable, do it yourself and save some money. If you choose to do this you might be able to dismantle the ignition if you remove it yourself and take out the key. Although I have never done this myself... As for the key, I suppose you don't have a spare?
