Hey folks,
I was changing out my gear selector micro-switch when I dropped the shift lock override lever down into the shifter box. I've been struggling to retrieve it and am now attempting to remove entire shifter box so that I can get it out. All points of disconnection rusted badly–can't remove circlip from tranny connection, attempting to remove gear shifter rod directly from tranny (13mm nut at tranny). Now won't go out of park even with microswitch working, lever engages but it's totally hung up. At one point shift lever at tranny jumped a notch, possibly beyond park, even though I was careful with torque and using a wood block to absorb the force of the wrench on the nut. At this point I'd need to disengage driveshaft even to get it towed, I seriously doubt I've done major damage (yet), but I'm most certainly at a stopping point. Need help, will try to get my local guy to make a house call but I'd rather do it myself. I still need to get that shift lock override lever out, too. Man...
