Default '94 940 front seats

Will other year and model front seats interchange with '94 940? If so, what years and models. Will I have problems with the plug in for the power seat?

As long as they are power...any 940 seat will work.

Non power will work fine too... Just like late 1990-92 740 will be OK too, for the 940. Earlier years have to be mildly modified.

Default 850 or 960 front seats in a 940?

I was wondering if anyone knew if power seats from a 850 or 960 sedan would fit in a '94 940 sedan with power seats?

will s90/v90(960-II, eg 1995+) seats fit a 91/92 740/940 ?

my 92 740 has manual (non-power) seats, so I realize I'd need to hack up a power harness for this (I'd likely try and get the connector ends from the donor car), I'm an electronics geek so I'm pretty sure I can manage this.

It's easy. Plug the positive lead into the fuse box, the negative under the console...

well, the memory seats from a late model car will require the memory controller, which I believe is under the carpet near the airbag controller, but yeah basically. power and ground. probably should be switched power so they can't activate when the ignition is off, and it probably should be a circuit that has sufficient power to handle the stall load from seat motors, which is a fair amount (15 or 20A, I bet?)

actually, come to think of it, I'd rather the seats were UNswitched power, so you can adjust them before getting in the car. my wife runs the seat so far forward I can barely squeeze in behind the wheel

Nah, the memory is in the seat... And, yes, unswitched power is what I have, I just used one of the fuses in the boxes, forget which one, but it is the one that later carries the seat power in the 940s... I did put a 940 power seat in '92 740... works great!
