Default 940 Charging issue

SO....battery goes dead this afternoon, but I got a jump start to get it home. Install new battery, and test the alt which shows that the alt isn't putting anything back into the battery. Battery reads 12.6 regardless of whether or not it's running.

Now I'm a bit confused because I see this thread and am wondering...would a bad circuit board actually cause the alternator NOT to do it's job ??

Can anyone confirm or deny this, and if so a local pick and pull yard has a cluster from a 94 940 turbo and I'm wondering if the circuit board would be compatible with a NA 93.

Well....it's TRUE.

The engineers didn't really think that out too well. It appears that a circuit board from a 93-4 turbo OR non turbo will work since I took one from a 94 turbo, swapped all the gauges over, re-installed it, all the lights fired up and it's charging at 13.9 with no load, and 13.5 with a load.

Now to wait until sundown to see if I need to replace any illumination bulbs
