Default 940 headlight probelm

1992 940 GL - No power to the headlight on the drivers side with the dash headlight indicator light on. I'm thinking maybe the relay for the indicator is bad. Is that relay on the fuse panel and, if so, which relay is it?

Thanks.

Is low beam and high beam both out?Bulb failure light on?If yes to both these questions, relay is probably bad.
To access relays, remove the snap-on cover over the cigarette lighter, then remove the two screws securing the storage box. Remove the box and you will see the relay tray behind the fuses.

Yes to both. I'll try to get a relay this week.

Thanks.

Actually I was able to solve the problem without a new relay. Seems the female connection on the relay board was where the problem lie. It was overheated and the plastic slightly melted into the connector creating a situation where the male pin was not making good contact to the metal on the female connector. I meticulously cut away the plastic and was able to slightly crimp the female connector to create a better fit. All's working now and I did manage to get a spare relay from a friend. Thanks.

My headlight problem has resurfaced. Worked fine since September when I refurbished the connector in the multi-connector. I haven't looked in the dash yet but I'm wondering if I can simply splice the two wires and eliminate that circuit from the multi-connector?
