940 IDLE PROBLEMS. PLEASE HELP!!!!
I INSTALLED A NEW CONSTANT IDLE CONTROL VALVE ABOUT 300 MILES AGO.FOR THE FIRST DAY OR ABOUT 75 MILES THE CAR RAN PERFECT.
ON THE SECOND DAY THE IDLE WAS PERFECT AS LONG AS THE A/C WAS ON BUT WHEN IT WAS TURNED OFF THE IDLE WAS HIGH 1500-2000 RPM'S.
IF THE A/C WAS TURNED ON WHILE THE CAR WAS IDLING HIGH IN ABOUT 15-20 SECONDS THE IDLE WOULD RETURN TO NORMAL.
NOW AFTER A COUPLE HUNDRED MILES THE IDLE WILL KICK DOWN WITH THE A/C ON AFTER A FEW SECONDS BUT WILL NOT KICK DOWN AT ALL WITH THE A/C OFF.
IT WILL IDLE UP AND DOWN BETWEEN 1500-2000 RPM'S AND CLIMB HIGHER IF YOU PUSH THE GAS AT ALL BEFORE EVENTUALLY COMING DOWN TO 1500-2000 RPM'S AGAIN.
I UNPLUGGED THE CONSTANT IDLE CONTROL VALVE WHILE IT WAS RUNNING AND THE IDLE RETURNS IMMEDIATELY TO NORMAL.
I UNPLUGGED THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR AND THE IDLE RUNS UP EVEN HIGHER.
PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN!
THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

It is kind of hard to explain how to set it.
With the throttle body off the car look at the throttle body.
You should only see a little bit of light around the throttle plate.
Then if that is ok you need to make sure you hear the switch Click when you move the throttle. Once you Just start moving it it should click. That click is what turns the idle motor off.

You can hear the click with the throttle body off the car. It is in the TPS that it clicks.
It should be adjustable. It has small allen screws on the side of the throttle body.
But some won't click which is a little different system. But most click.

I check the TPS and in doing so noticed the throttle cable had jumed out of the center groove. I repositioned it and everything seems normal again.
Thanks for the Help!
