Default 940 temp gauge sensor wire question please help

My 940 temp sensor for the temp gauge the one above the knock sensor..
can anyone please tell me if the solid yellow wire is on the top or bottom when I plug it back in to the sensor, I usually take a photo so I wouldn't forget. I unplugged it to clean it and the resin crumbled and the wires are a little loose so I'm going to hat shrink the nd if the connection and hope that will keep them intact.
so does the yellow solid color go in on top pin or bottom bullet pin
ASAP I'm trying to get it done thank u

Default Wire

Depends on how its oriented in your car. Solid yellow or power should be facing nearest front of car. Ground should be closest to rear.
if it sits horizontal, solid yellow should be on your left side. Or left in the sensor spade

I thought the temp sensor for the dashboard gauge was one pin (or am I confusing this with my Mercedes, hah!) ? the one for the engine management is 4 pin,

anyways, these sensors are temperature sensitive resistors, they aren't polarized, so it actually doesn't matter which way its connected.

Default What happens if you out the wrong

Thank u will it hurt anything if I put the wrong colored wire into the wrong place on the sensor or can I just switch it if it just didn't work.
so sounds like the solid yellow goes on the top and the stripes would go closer to the bottom or back.

As luck would have it, I took a picture of it this weekend. I hope it helps.

Default Thank you for the photo

Thank you, that's what I thought that the yellow one is under the striped one, got it and it's working now, thank God, now if I could just get to my egr valve.
Anyone looking for a vacation to Florida?
I have plenty of space, I'm on Big Lake Harris..close to many things, Disney, Springs, Space coast.
Need someone to help me remove my egr and the black oil separator box, it easy to get to I just can't get the bolt off the egr..

Thanks so much for the photo, it helped...

Default These may help

Sneak an extension drive with a flex or wobble end on it to remove the 12 mm bolts, then move the wiring harness out of the way.

Unplug the EGR from the top of the box, it just pulls up. IAC hose is disconnected in the previous picture.

Once that's done, gently rock the oil separator back and forth until it comes up. Don't break the splash tab off the right side of it.

I just remove the intake manifold. Not too hard and makes the job a lot easier.
