was messing with my non operating passenger side brake light today (again...) and came across a black bulb
holder in my 'box o' bulbs' that has a small bulb in it think it said 5w on it. does anyone know if that is the fog light
that goes on the rear upper driver's side?

 

nevermind found online looks like it's a 21w bulb for the fog light, the 5w is for the single tail light nearest the license plate

 

still haven't got the fog light going but last time installed it lit off the 'check bulb' light on the dash anyone know how to get rid of that?
pass side brake light going ok now...

 

That 'check bulb' is set off by bad, burned bulbs, or unequal bulbs' voltage. You can't get rid of it, you can fix the bulbs setting it off, or remove the instrument panel bulb.

 

thanks lev. i think i'm in the 'unequal voltage' category then. i will try different bulbs and holders which i have a few of, and go from there.
(i don't relish pulling the instrument cluster)

 

so, after trying 3 different bulb holders/bulbs got the thing working again with no check bulb light on the dash...
