Default 940 tune up / FI check data

Where is the best place to find the data for checking out my fairly new to me 940 wagon. It has started idling rough and I need to go through the fuel and ignition systems. I am fairly familiar with Bosch fuel injection and have most of the tools needed for troubleshooting like a good multimeter, fuel pressure gauge set, timing light, etc. I can't seem to find a good manual that will take me through throttle position switch adjustement, component checks, etc. Anybody have a good source of a good manual I can buy?

Well, start with a Haynes manual. Volvo printed highly specific manuals called Green Books. Many have been scanned and are on the internet. Browse KJet.org

Check compression and leakdown in cylinders...Iv'e learned in a short time that the Bosch EFI and ignitin systems are really tough, high quality systems....all, I repeat, ALL OF MY PROBLEMS WERE UNRELATED TO THE Fuel and Ignition systems, I replaced most of my igntion parts for no good reason....If I had checked my compression first, I wouldve saved tons of money and time...

Go ahead and tune it up. Never hurts to have new ignition parts, but don't go after the throttle adjustment you PROBABLY don't need it. Check the idle air controller if idle isn't quite right.

component checks can be done through the Volvo onboard diagnostics....
Engine and OBD Diagnostic Codes

Find the haynes manual that swiftjustice is referring to...
I got mine on amazon for less than $20US
If the haynes manual doesnt have what yu need, it should be available somewhere openly on the web

This website is full of really important procedures and they offer it for free.....\

Thanks for the advice, i will run a compression check this weekend. I have seen the Hayes manual on Amazon and will pick that up and there is someone who is selling the Volvo manuals on CD on Ebay that I will buy.
