Default '94 940t Intake hose and turbo cleaning questions

Ive got a 94 940 turbo, 240k mi

My intake hose is disintegrating at the turbo end. I ordered a new one and Ive gone to install it and it seems that the hose is too small of diameter to fit over the turbo.

Has anyone else run into this? The part numbers all seem to be correct... could I try to heat it up and shove it on there?

Also, from the old hose being an oil soaked gummy mess... there is a lot of crap all over the intake side of the turbo... what is the best method of cleaning it up? Is there any harm in some solvent getting into the turbo?

Thanks!

New intake hoses are very tight. Carb cleaner on a rag or even a little WD-40 will clean the grunge.

Brake parts cleaner is a favorite of mine. It won't dissolve quality paints.
