940 Turbo Code 413-What The?
My 93 940 Turbo just decided to introduce me to code 413-from what I can find on here its a code for a EGR temp sensor. Can someone tell me where this thing is? Found the EGR itself-Also what steps should I take to get rid of this code.Do I have to replace this sensor(once I find it) or can it or the EGR or something be cleaned? What may be causing this -the car is running fine though I plan a new set of plugs ,cap and rotor soon. Please help as I have to get the car inspected here soon and it wont pass because of the check engine light.
Ok -I cleared the code and it came back within minutes of driving . I ran over to the junkyard and got another EGR valve which I am going to try tomorrow. My question is where is the EGR coolant temp sensor? There is a plug on the backend of the EGR that has two wires going back into the harness...Looks like there are a couple of sensors in the intake manifold below the throttle body-the one toward the front of the engine looks like a temp sensor but has the wrong color wire leads to match the EGR. The second sensor is of course difficult to get at-it is toward the back of the engine under the throttle body-is this the right one? Code 413 says EGR coolant temp sensor-the only other sensor I see on the EGR tubing is a plug in the plastic y over by the turbo but this wouldnt measure coolant rather it seems to be a sensor for air temp or flow maybe.Anybody know which one I should be checking/replacing-they are expensive little doodads and dont want to change the wrong one.Thanks.....
