95 940
Hello all! Few days ago my volvo just didn't want to star after I put in gas. Starts but doesn't old idle even tho I gas it. I changed the iac valve still same thing. I tried looking for fuel relay inside the ashtray but I don't have a relay is the spot everyone is talking about. Second roll to the far left.. Where would it be located? Or anyone experience the same issue? Thanks for all your help!

the 1994 1995 non-turbo 940's rearranged the fuel pump relays. instead of the old expensive dual relay that was in position "E" (far left middle row), they use the radio suppression relay under the hood to switch the ECU on, and they use a different fuel pump relay in position "M" (second from RIGHT on the rearmost row closest to the fuses).
however, a fuel pump relay failure would result in a total non-start, or random stall while driving, not start-but-stop-running.
have you checked for any OBD-I diagnostic codes? no tools required, just follow the 'DTM 1" procedure here... Engine and OBD Diagnostic Codes
the meanings of the actual codes are farther down that page.

I'd be checking the engine coolant temp sensor.
its a variable resistance that is higher when cold and lower when hot... its actually TWO such resistors, one for the ECU and one for the ICU. most ECT problems are in fact wiring related, but it IS possible the sensor itself is bad. see Engine Sensors
