Default '95 940 wagon: left tail light out, brake lights fine

So I've been battling with this for some time. All three brake lights work well, and the right side tail light works, too. However, the left side tail light does not work.

I have checked all the wires, and they're getting voltage.

Replaced the lamp

Switched the lamp and holder from the right side to the left, and it has the same problem.

I really can't understand what the issue could be. The contacts in the housing look reasonably clean (there's certainly no visible corrosion).

Any ideas? Could there be some hidden gremlin in the housing that's causing this, even though I can't imagine where it could be hiding?

Inspections coming up in a couple days. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Have you checked the base thing that holds the bulb? Maye a tab is broke and it can turn too far and short out the light or something. That's all I got.
