Hello all. 91 740 turbo. I have been wondering about this for some time, but it always slipped my mind. Last August when I came home from a drive I tuned my car off and I heard the 2nd fan kick in, the accessory one. I think it was a hot day and I was just wondering if this fan operates like that, meaning when needed to cool off the engine etc. I haven’t had any problems with the car running hot or overheating at all, but I was just wondering about the function of the 2nd fan. Thanks a lot.

 

Yes it should be controlled by a sensor mounted in the RAD.
